The BookMarks and Marion Public Library are excited to present our Speaking Volumes fundraiser event featuring bestselling author Ariel Lawhon. Join us on Friday, October 23, to hear Lawhon talk about her many books and years of writing.

Ariel Lawhon is a critically acclaimed author of historical fiction, known for bringing extraordinary women and overlooked stories to life. Her bestselling novels include: The Frozen River, Code Name Helene, I Was Anastasia, Flight of Dreams, and The Wife, the Maid, and the Mistress. She is also a co-author of When We Had Wings and the author of the Amazon Original short story Barriers to Entry. Her work has been translated into numerous languages and has been featured as selections for Good Morning America Book Club, LibraryReads, Indie Next, Costco, Amazon Spotlight, and Book of the Month Club. Lawhon's engaging storytelling and deep historical research have earned her a devoted readership across the country.

Speaking Volumes is a signature fundraising event for The BookMarks, with all proceeds supporting the programs, services, and initiatives of the Marion Public Library. This annual event brings nationally recognized authors to Marion, while strengthening literacy and lifelong learning in the community.

Attendees can expect an evening of engaging conversation, insight into Lawhon's writing process, and opportunities to connect through a shared love of reading and storytelling. A book signing will also be included as part of the event experience.

Sponsorship opportunities are now available, and we invite local businesses and community partners to be part of this impactful event. For information on how to become a sponsor, email marionbookmarks@gmail.com or visit the library and ask at the main desk.
